Curriculum Night, Open house set for Buda Elem.
Buda Elementary School hosts its first PTA meeting of the year tomorrow, Thursday, Sept. 22, at 6 p.m. in the Kunkel Room, its enthusiastic promoters inviting all parents “to come and be a part of the best school around!” The evening continues at 6:30 p.m. with a Curriculum Night and Open House. All parents have the opportunity to visit their child’s classroom and learn more about what the 2011-2012 school year holds. Sessions will begin at 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Navigators Open House Thursday
The faculty, staff and administration at Negley Elementary School invite their community to Open House Night tomorrow, Thursday, Sept. 22, at 6:30 p.m. The young – and well-informed – Navigators should be arriving home this week with plenty of information from teachers on the evening’s proceedings.
Highsteppers schedule clinic
The Hays High School Highsteppers host a clinic for girls in grades K-8 this Saturday, Sept. 24, 9 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. Cost is $30. The clinic is designed to provide girls with an opportunity to learn dance routines from the Highsteppers and an experience that will help participants gain confidence and an appreciation for dance. Participants will perform for their parents and also in September 30 pre-game activities before the Rebel game. Simon staff serving for funds soon
Members of the Simon Middle School faculty and staff will be hard at it, serving up hamburgers, fries and drinks at their Thursday, Sept. 28, “McTeacher Night” at the Kyle McDonald’s. Set for 5-8 p.m. that evening, the enthusiastic staffers will be behind the counter with the usual workers, providing service with a smile for a percentage of the night’s proceeds.
Lil Cheer Clinic set for Oct.
The Hays High School Rebel cheerleaders host their Lil Cheer Clinic Monday-Thursday, Oct. 3-6, from 4:15-6 p.m. daily, in the Joe Graham Gym. The clinic is for campers from three years old through 6th-grade. Cost is $25 and family specials are available. Campers receive a t-shirt and get the chance to perform at a high school football game. Roadrunners offer Clothes Closet
Last week’s Hays Free Press told the story of Chapa Middle School’s Neighbors Helping Neighbors and word is getting around the district of another such labor of love, the Camino Real Elementary Clothes Closet. The effort is coordinated by teacher Esperanza Orosco, who invites the community to donate clothes and/or new children’s socks or underwear at her campus.
