KES Kick-off Thursday
Kyle Elementary School’s annual kick-off to the school year is set for this Thursday, Aug. 25, 6-7:30 p.m. at Gregg-Clarke Park. The always fun event welcomes students, their families, and the Panther faculty and staff and treats them to an evening of hot dogs, lemonade and fellowship.


Kinder info at CHES Thursday
Carpenter Hill Elementary School hosts an information meeting for parents of its kindergarten students this Thursday, Aug. 25, at 6:30 p.m. Titled “All you ever wanted to know about kindergarten, but were afraid to ask,” the meeting covers schedules, library use, lunch, transition procedures and dismissal. Parents will be encouraged to discuss any and all concerns.


Lobo Theatre has first offering
The school year is off to a fast start for the Lehman High School Theatre program, with that group’s presentation of Agatha Christie’s  “A Murder is Announced” this Thursday through Sunday, Aug. 25-28. Show times are 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Lehman Theatre. Tickets are $5. For information or to reserve tickets, call 268-8454, ext. 8613. All proceeds benefit the Lehman Theatre program.


Negley parents of 5th-graders info night
Each fall, Negley Elementary 5th-graders embark on an adventure as they attend Outdoor Learning Camp in Pace Bend Park on Lake Travis. The students enjoy academic hands-on experiences and team building activities, learn to communicate and problem solve as a team, and learn science, math, and social studies concepts. All parents of Navigator 5th-graders are invited to an informational meeting next Tuesday, Aug. 30, 6:30 p.m. at the campus cafeteria to learn more about this annual trip.


Lehman seeks CLT help
Lehman High School is seeking volunteers to serve on its Campus Leadership Team for this school year. At this writing, three specially designated slots remained open – a parent representative, a business representative and a community representative.
