Israel Contreras, age 85, passed peacefully at his home in Buda on Saturday, December 10, 2011. He was born December 8, 1926 in San Marcos. He served in WWII as a machine gun specialist and was awarded the Purple Heart before being honorably discharged at the war’s end.
He was a loving father to Frank Ybarra, Ben Ybarra, Sylvia Medina, Rachel Contreras, Yolanda Noorani, Dolores Gonzales and Arthur Contreras. He was blessed with 22 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren as well as many loving friends.
A dinner to celebrate his life was held on Monday, December 12 at Lifepoint Church, Manchaca, Tx. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the cancer charity of your choice.
