FriDaze of Kyle relocates, grows
FriDaze Liquor is expanding its inventory of beer, wine and spirits after moving to a new location in Kyle.

Owners Laurie and Jerry Luttrell say they are also adding a “huge” humidor for cigars, while they will continue to offer quantity discounts for parties and weddings. FriDaze reports that its top sellers are imported beers, followed by vodka and wine.

In business for nearly four years, FriDaze is at 130 Kirkham Circle, near the corner of Rebel Drive and Jack C. Hays Trail.

U.S. Foods to cut ribbon in Buda
U.S. Foods, formerly U.S. Foodservice, is the largest of three businesses that will hold ribbon-cutting ceremonies this week in Kyle and Buda.

U.S. Foods, based in Rosemont, Ill., broke ground in Buda a year ago following nearly two years of delays and an unsuccessful legal attempt to block the distribution center.

Division President John Fowler said the company has added about 30 employees since opening the facility, bringing its local workforce to 272. Counting space for truck maintenance, he said, the facility is 304,000-square-feet and includes seven acres of refrigerated area.

The company has applied for LEED certification, an internationally-recognized green building certification system, for the facility, which is off Turnersville Road east of Buda.

“We’re happy to be here and ready to work harder,” Fowler said.

Two smaller businesses are also holding ribbon-cutting ceremonies this week. The ceremonies are:

Blizz Frozen Yogurt, 4:30 p.m. today, 5695 Kyle Parkway, Suite 600, in Kyle. Online at www.blizzyogurt.net.
