Johnna Puckett Reynolds, 43, of Driftwood died tragically from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on June 21, 2011. Johnna had been a teacher in Texas for 21 years.
She was born August 31, 1967, in Sweetwater, Texas, grew up there, and graduated from Sweetwater High School. She won three world champion barrel racing titles in the American Junior Rodeo Association. Johnna also won a state title in track and was on the second place state basketball team. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Tarleton State University in Stephenville, where she also won the Southwestern Region Barrel Racing Title. Johnna taught at Perrin-Whitt CISD, where she met Cole, the love of her life, who would later become her husband. She taught both kindergarten and physical education in the Lake Travis ISD. She had been the PE teacher at Bee Cave Elementary since its opening in 1999, and she taught many after school classes and coached many sports teams. Students loved PE because Johnna made it fun. She was passionate about sports and was a great competitor. She instilled that spirit in many children, particularly in her own, Casey and Lane.
