The City of Kyle has done it once again. This time they cut off my water.
I was told I had not paid my bill. That’s funny – it was set up on automatic payment and you had no trouble getting paid last month.
I was told you tried several times but the credit card was denied. That’s funny. Other vendors I have set up the same way had no issue (AT&T, Time Warner, etc.) this month or the last.
I was also told I was contacted by “the computer system” three times and if they didn’t get ahold of me they left a message. That’s funny. We never got a call from the City of Kyle and never got a message on our answering machine.
The best part of the whole thing is that the supposedly past due bill was due on the 11th of August – and here you are, not even 20 days later, without any warning, shutting of the water supply to my home – a home with 9 children, one of which has a serious heart condition. Thanks, City of Kyle.
Seriously folks. Have you ever considered that your computer systems aren’t all that great. Have you ever considered the fact that maybe, just maybe, you made a mistake. I doubt it because you are the City of Kyle where everything is “simply charming”.
If I had an inkling that my water bill had not been paid, I certainly would have paid the bill. Most people review their credit card statement once a month. I guess I and the rest of the citizens of simply charming Kyle need to change that to weekly.
So, it’s 18 days, then cut them off at the toes! What is really going on down at City Hall? Not quite hitting your revenue projections for the year? Trying to find some creative ways to squeeze more money from the citizenry? (Wow, I really had another $70 in fees that I could afford.)
Please, I don’t care if your computer said it called me 100 times, it didn’t call me. Put a paper notice on the door next time if you really care about the people you say you serve!
