At their meeting held in New Braunfels on November 16 at 6:00pm, the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution awarded two Hays County Sheriff Office deputies commendation medals.
Deputy Amy Stacy was given the Heroism Award for her actions in saving the life of a motorist whom she pulled out of a burning vehicle earlier this year. Her swift actions and response helped avoid a terrible tragedy from occurring. Deputy Stacy has been with Sheriff’s Office since 2009.
Deputy Manuel De la Rosa received the Law Enforcement Commendation Medal for officer of the year. Deputy De la Rosa’s dedication to the Field Training Officer program and work ethic was noted in the award. Deputy De la Rosa has been with the Sheriff’s Office since 2009.
