In June, ministers from several Christian congregations in Buda formed the Buda Ministerial Alliance to provide support for Buda residents and Buda’s emergency response to critical incidents such as man-made or natural disasters. Led by Chairman Jim Sweet, reverend from Buda United Methodist Church, and retired Navy chaplain, Don Muchow, chaplain to the Buda Police Department, as vice-chairman, the alliance committed to gather names of experienced counselors within their congregations to volunteer to serve in emergency situations affecting large numbers of residents. The alliance plans to sponsor an annual community worship event and share ministerial support, education and information in meetings, the next one scheduled for August 18.
