Elsie Holloway, 98, of Roaring River, North Carolina, formerly of Buda, passed away Sunday, July 10. She was born on January 31, 1913.
Elsie and husband Noah, along with their three children, came to Buda in 1948 from Grandfield, Oklahoma. Noah worked for the Buda Independent Schools as a school bus driver and mechanic and Elsie worked in the school cafeteria. In 1965 Elsie began working in Austin for the Winn’s Stores and remained there until 1974 when she moved to Roaring River, NC to be near her daughter Jeri and family. While living in Buda, Elsie was active in community affairs and the Buda Baptist Church.
Her husband, Noah, in July 1967 and her grandson, Benjamin Sebastian, predeceased Elsie in death.
Elsie is survived by one son, Jack Holloway and wife Mary of Union Church, Mississippi and two daughters, Jeri Sebastian and husband, Jim, of Roaring River, NC and Leanna Johnson of Elgin, TX; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services were held in North Carolina on July 12 at Bethany Ford Baptist Church.
