STAFF REPORT
A free Central Texas Environmental Summit on Nov. 3 will focus on air quality, water conservation and other issues along the Interstate 35 corridor from Austin to San Antonio.
The summit, at the Schertz Civic Center, will include interactive displays and a chance to visit with staff from the Texas Comission on Environmental Quality, as well as area politicians, state agencies, groundwater conservation districts and river authorities.
“It’s a way for the public to learn how TCEQ and our partner public entities work together and work within the community to solve environmental concerns,” said Brian Christian the director of TCEQ’s Small Business and Environmental Assistance Division.
The interactive displays will give people a chance to check out scientific equipment used by TCEQ staff, who will be on hand for demonstrations, he added.
The summit will be from 9 am. to 2 p.m. Nov. 3. For information and to register, visit www.texasenvirohelp.org.
