Brush fire destroys 5 acres in Wimberley

The Hays County Fire Marshal’s office is urging renewed vigilance after the latest blaze in the county destroyed five acres on Friday in Wimberley. No one was injured in the brush fire, which broke out around 11 a.m. on Wolf Creek Pass. “Be very careful, and if you do see a fire, call 9-1-1,” said Assistant Fire Marshal Tim Gothard. “A lot of people will see smoke or fire and think the other guys will always call, and a lot of times they don’t.”
