RE: Bob Barton’s “Schools must unite to fight the fat cats.”
On one hand Mr Barton appears to support keeping school funding intact and claims to be impressed with the number of teachers that attended the rally to limit education cuts in the current budget and their collective passion. However he then is able in the very next paragraph to call Congressman Lloyd Doggett “passionate and competent” while completely neglecting to mention that Lloyd Doggett is personally responsible for denying Texas $830 million dollars for education! Doggett crafted an amendment that only affected Texas and is preventing Texans from getting their own tax dollars back in our state for education. How can Barton ignore that the ultimate “Fat Cat” was in his presence at that rally and is making sure that the education system in Texas isn’t getting its share of the federal funding. No other state has been made to meet these “conditions” in order to get their allotted federal education dollars. Rep. Doggett played politics with your kids education funding and prevented them from receiving $830 million dollars and now has the gall to call out a state representative for his vote on a budgetary bill. Oh the irony of a Ms.Orosco standing up and demanding more education dollars while standing right next to the very man who denied fellow Texas millions of them. But who should be surpised? Afterall Doggett is a democrat and Ms Orosco is a union representative.
