On Center Street
by BRENDA STEWART
Here we go again. Another winter and spring without any rain always brings water rationing (although I’m hoping that we all use a bit of common sense year round, regardless of city issued proclamations). As always, water after 8 p.m. and before 10 a.m., only on your day. So, odd-numbered addresses water on Wed. and Sat., and even numbers on Thurs. and Sun. Commercial and multi-family properties water Tue. and Fri. I guess on Monday, the aquifer gets to take a gulp and refuel for the week.

The Log House Commission is once again throwing open the doors to the Claiborne Kyle Log House this Sunday afternoon from 2-5 p.m. Called “Blooms Above the Blanco” this is a perfect opportunity to load up the kids and Grandma, head out for a Sunday drive and take a trip back in time. From downtown, just head west on Center Street and take a left on Stagecoach at the stop sign just past Wallace. The log house is a couple of miles down the road on your right.

Then, on Monday, just leave your house 10 minutes early and steer your car over to City Hall. The polls are open 7 a.m.-7 p.m. and you might as well vote now and get it over with and cross if off your list. (You can also vote Tues.-Fri. 8-5 or Sat. 10-3 but why wait?) Our mayor and two councilmembers are up for re-election and their record speaks for itself. Check out the sample ballot on p. 6A. Ask the questions you need answers to and then go vote.
