The Buda “Y” is offering new programs for Active Older Adults (AOA). Zumba Gold classes will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. and there will be an AOA Game Night on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 5 to 7 p.m. For additional information contact the “Y” at 465 Buda Sportsplex Dr. or (512) 523-0099.

There is a new little Timmons around these parts. Hudson Ray Timmons was born Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at 3:16 p.m. He was a healthy seven pounds, one ounce and 19 inches long. He is the first born for parents Tanner and Chelsea Timmons and the grandson of proud grandparents: Bryan and Karen Timmons, Freddie and Donna Dippel and Wayne and Karen Bordovsky.

The 50th wedding anniversary of Bob and Jean Holbrook was celebrated on Sunday, October 2 at The Winfield Inn in Kyle. Congratulations to the Holbrooks.

Buda residents, it’s time to clean out your place and drop off any unwanted/non-hazardous materials free of charge at Buda City Park on Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon. A city of Buda water/sewer utility bill along with a Texas driver’s license with a Buda address must be shown in order to drop off trash at the cleanup site. No tires or hazardous materials. There is a new chiropractic office coming to downtown Buda and also a new thrift shop has opened its doors. Both businesses are located on Railroad Street next to the Buda EDC office.

Come downtown Buda for “First Thursday” on the 6th. Enjoy the restaurants and entertainment as well as the shops on Main Street. Art Around Town will feature “pumpkin art” free of charge for kids of all ages at the picnic tables at the Buda Library from 6 to 8 p.m.

Buda Area Chamber of Commerce will meet on Wednesday, Oct. 12 from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Good Shepherd Ministries, 401 RR 967 in Buda.
