Cooler months bring lots of fall activities

by DICK SCHNEIDER
Buda Chamber of Commerce

Last Saturday night I was awakened by the most wonderful sound I have heard in almost a year. It was the thunder and lightning of a fabulous rain storm. It banged and clanged and I loved hearing the rain splashing on the bedroom windows and soaking everything in the yard.

What a great event – thunder and lightning. I thought it was never going to rain again in Buda. It sure seemed that way for the past months. Now that the rain event has finally happened, we can remember again all of the events that are planned for Buda for the next few weeks.

October 20: Buda Area Chamber of Commerce 10th Anniversary Party for current, former and potential members. City Park, 5-10 p.m.

October 22-23: Buda Fine Arts Festival on the greenbelt in Historic Downtown Buda. Featured artist, Oscar Silva, works in fiber/mixed media and there will be more than 50 juried artists. Children’s art area, live music and a silent auction. Quilt Show at Buda City Hall. Free admission.

October 27: BOOda Halloween Celebration up and down Main Street with costumed vendors giving away treats and candy. 6-8 p.m. Don’t forget to wear your costume.

December 3-4: It’s time to start planning for Budafest. There will be a Christmas parade and vendors with all types of Christmas stuff. This great event will be held on the greenbelt in Historic Downtown Buda.

December 14-21: The Buda Trail of Lights will take place in Historic Stagecoach Park. Mark your calendars and watch for more details as we get closer to Christmas.

As you can see, there is a lot going on this fall. Plan to spend some quality time with your family in Downtown Buda – your home away from home.

Dick Schneider is President of the Buda Area Chamber of Commerce.
