Hays County Courthouse, San Marcos, TX – Tax Assessor-Collector Luanne Caraway has announced that residents who need to take care of motor vehicle-related business with the San Marcos-area Tax Assessor-Collector’s Office should now visit the new County Government Center, 712 South Stagecoach Trail, San Marcos. At the new building, Tax Office customers can enjoy the convenience of completing business without leaving their vehicle by using a new drive-through lane that is accessible from the back of the building on the east side, or by coming inside to do business in the Government Center.
Because of the failure of the State of Texas’ contractor to meet the County’s deadline for the move to the new Government Center, the Motor Vehicle Division of the Hays County Tax Assessor-Collector wasn’t able to move to the new Government Center with the rest of the Tax Office. Now, all of the Tax Office’s divisions are again located in one place.
The Tax Assessor-Collector’s other offices, located in Buda, Dripping Springs and Kyle, are also available to serve residents and businesses. During December, many San Marcos-area County offices are moving to the new Government Center. To find the Center:
?Take the Wonder World Drive exit (Exit 202) from IH-35 and head west. At the
bottom of the railroad track overpass, turn right and head north on
South Stagecoach Trail.
?Take Hunter Road (FM 2439) to Wonder World Drive and turn east toward IH-
35. At the bottom of the railroad track overpass, turn left and head north on
South Stagecoach Trail.
South Stagecoach Trail dead ends at the Government Center. The address is not yet on some online maps and you may be directed to an inaccurate address. Please check carefully.
