Woman hit by car on access road

Kyle police are investigating a vehicle-pedestrian collision Friday morning on the southbound Interstate 35 on ramp near the Target store.

A 36-year-old woman, who was transported to Brackenridge Hospital in Austin with non-life threatening injuries, was struck by a vehicle while she attempted to cross the interstate on-ramp around 9:30 a.m., police say.

Witnesses told police that the woman was walking along the interstate and tried to cross the on-ramp next to Burleson Road when she was struck by a Toyota sedan. No charges are expected to be filed, police say.

Emergency crews shut down the on-ramp and outside lane of the interstate but reopened the roads by 12:20 p.m.
