Looking for something to do now that the kids are in school? Check out the programs being offered at the Kyle Public Library. Among the choices are job searching online, basic and intermediate computer classes in English and a basic computer class taught in Spanish. All programs are free and open to the public.


• Citizenship classes beginning on Thursday, August 25, 4-6 p.m.


• ESL classes will resume on Saturday, August 13, beginning at 9:45 a.m. and ending at 11:30 a.m. with new students welcomed at any time.


• Jobs Search Computer classes begin Monday, August 22 and continue through Friday, August 26. This is a two hour class starting at 8 a.m. and ending at 10 a.m.


• Orientation for computer classes will be held August 17 from 9-10 a.m. Basic computer begins on Wednesday, August 24 from 9-10 a.m. Intermediate computer begins on Tuesday, August 23 from 9-10 a.m.


• Basic Computer Class (en Espanol) begin Monday, August 29, 9-10 a.m.


• Storytimes for preschoolers are Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. and noon and a preschool bilingual storytime is on Fridays at 10:30 a.m. For older children, ages 7-12, Gaming Time is offered on Fridays at 3 p.m.


• A new Spanish class for English speakers will begin on Tuesday, Sept. 13, from 9 to 10 a.m.

And don’t forget: Paver applications are still being accepted for the courtyard that will be located at the new Kyle Public Library on Scott Street.
