Buda Bits

It was a big night last Thursday for downtown Buda. Many folks took advantage of the monthly “First Thursday” during which merchants stay open late for shopping. The restaurants were full and many people were seen strolling down Main Street.

Also, last Thursday night starting at 7:30 p.m., Buda Grocery & Grill was a hub of activity with a filming crew setting up inside the store. A feature film called “The Association” by Eleven:11 Films, Cavalry Pictures and Freeworld Enterprises, spent the night working on a film that will be released this summer. The film is an action comedy in the nature of “Monster Squad” meets “The Burbs” ending with the heroes redefining the meaning of Association. The film, featuring Kevin Nash, James Hampton and Eloise Dejoria, was written and directed by Ryan Wickerham.
Birthday wishes go out to Michael Wayne Dees on March 10; Scott Bailey on March 11; 6-year-old Lawrence Dean Haberer on March 12; Cindi Hudson on March 13; Mac Freeman and Gary Vacek on March 16.

If you are reading this early on Thursday, you still have time to come down to the Onion Creek Senior Citizens annual event today. The ever-popular auction starts at 10:30 a.m., followed by lunch at 12:15 p.m. Come on down and support the seniors of this community.

It’s that time again, when we “spring forward” and set our clocks ahead one hour on Sunday, March 13. Maybe the weather will also start to feel more like springtime in Texas with some warmer days and nights.
