Schools will soon close their doors for the summer months and our Buda Library will be opening their doors for lots of summer fun activities for the children. The summer Kick Off and Reading Club Celebration will be Thursday, May 26, from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. at Buda City Park. There will be free crafts, fun games and refreshments. The theme for the summer program this year is “Dig Up a Good Book.” Check out all that the library can offer for the summer.

It is time to sign up for the annual Texas Hold’em Poker Tournament sponsored by the Onion Creek Senior Citizens. Check in will start at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 26 and play begins at 2:30 p.m. at the senior center in Buda. Registration is $30 donation. Anniversary wishes go out to Craig and Megan Odell who were married one year ago on May 22. Also anniversary wishes for 52 years of marriage for Tom and Beverly Trunick on May 27; Noland and Deanie Kunkel on May 30; and the Ramages, Sandra and Lamont on May 31. Congratulations to all.

Graduation was held last Thursday at Hays Hills Baptist Church for children in the Mother’s Day Out program. Three classes of five year olds wore black caps and gowns and received their “diploma” – now watch out world, it is on to kindergarten.
