Earth Day Share Fair Saturday

Kyle Elementary School announces its 2nd Annual Earth Day Share Fair this Saturday, April 16, 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m., at City Square Park. As part of the event, the Panthers are sponsoring a blood drive and are asking donors to pre-register in order to ensure that the Blood Mobile can be on hand. Negley PTA 5K and 1K Saturday

Participants are encouraged to sign up early(and get a discount) at www.active.com for this Saturday’s Negley Elementary PTA 5K and 1K Fun Run/Walk. On-site registration begins at 6 a.m., the 5K Run/Walk begins at 7 a.m., and the 1K Fun Run starts at 8:30 a.m.  All entrants receive a goody bag and t-shirt and every child entrant will receive a medal. The 5K entry fee is $15 if received by April 13, $18 after that date. The 1K early fee is $9 and after April 13 the fee is $12.


Lobo theatre offers camp

The Lehman High School theater program is offering a June 13-17 summer camp that will feature a special Sunday, June 19, matinee performance by camp participants. The camp will run from 8 a.m.-9 p.m. daily and is available to second through sixth-graders. Held at the Lehman Theater, it will be directed by LHS Theater Director Marissa Meek, assisted by LHS students, assuring at least one helper for every three students. Pantomime, face painting, stage makeup, costuming, and  set and prop design and creation are all part of the camp. Highstepper junior clinic set

The Hays Highsteppers will host their Junior Drill Team Clinic Saturday, April 30, 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m., in the Hays High School Red Gym. Open to K-8th grade girls, cost is $20 if registered by April 15, $25 after, and may be done on-site the morning of the clinic beginning at 8:15 a.m. A t-shirt (guaranteed only if early registrant) and snack are included. Parents will be given a noon “show-off” and participants may perform in the Highstepper Spring Show at the PAC Friday, May 6.
