Grandparents Day at KES

Kyle Elementary hosts its final Grandparents Day lunches this Thursday, Sept. 15, with students from Kindergarten, 3rd, and 5th-grades inviting their grandparents to share a special lunch with them.


Dahlstrom and Chapa Open Houses Thursday

Both Dahlstrom Middle School and Chapa Middle School will host their 2011 Open House activities this Thursday, Sept. 15, 6:30-8 p.m.


Camino Real Fall Round-up Saturday

Don’t miss the Back to School Fall Roundup at Camino Real Elementary this Saturday, Sept. 17, sponsored by the Roadrunner PTA. The always-fun event is set for 8 a.m.-noon.  Reservations for vendor booths are available now by contacting Anna Marie Dailey at [email protected].


Highsteppers’ dance clinic

The Hays High School Highsteppers host a clinic for girls in grades K-8 on Saturday, Sept. 24. Pre-registration has already ended, but late registration continues through the morning of the clinic. Cost is $30. The 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. clinic is designed to provide girls with an opportunity to learn dance routines from the Highsteppers and an experience that will help participants gain confidence and an appreciation for dance. Participants will perform for their parents in a special showing in the Hays High Red Gym and in September 30 pre-game activities before the Rebel game that night. Lil Cheer Clinic set

The Hays High School Rebel cheerleaders are calling for participants in their Lil Cheer Clinic, set for October 3-6, from 4:15-6 p.m. daily, in the Joe Graham Gym. The clinic is for campers from three years old through 6th-grade. Cost is $25 per participant and family specials are available. Campers will receive a t-shirt and will have the opportunity to perform at a high school football game. SAT testing Oct. 1

Hays CISD seniors will have the opportunity to take the SAT test at Hays High School Saturday, Oct. 1. Early registration has already closed, but late registrants may sign up until Wednesday, Sept. 21, for $75 (includes a $26 late fee) www.collegeboard.com. The test site will offer 10 stand-by spots the morning of the test, with an $82 fee. Students are directed to arrive at 7:30 a.m. with a filled out registration form. The 10 stand-by spots are available on a first come, first served basis. For more information, contact Hays High School Counselor Kathy Arendt at [email protected].
