Maurine Allen Kouri, 87, of Austin, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 2. She was born June 2, 1923 in Buda and lived her entire life in the Buda and Austin areas.
Maurine retired some years ago from her work with the Federal Government and she and her husband Tommy enjoyed travel and longstanding friendships with their many friends in Austin. Since Tommy’s death, she maintained her sense of humor and positive attitude in spite of numerous health challenges.
She was preceded in death by husband, Tommy Kouri in 1993; parents, Sid and Susie B. Allen of Buda; brothers, Chester Allen, Easton Allen and S. E. Allen; sisters, Thelma Lock, Moselle Barber and Marjorie Allen. Nephews, George Lock and wife Alba of Houston and Michael Allen of Dallas survive her.
Graveside services were held Friday, March 4, 2011 at Live Oak Cemetery in Manchaca.
