Lobo Choir sings on News 8 again
The Lehman High School Choir will once again be featured on News 8 Austin this weekend on Christmas Eve and again on Christmas Day. The group is the only Central Texas high school performing for the station this year. The Lehman Choir is under the direction of Daniel Arredondo, a graduate of HCISD schools, who was recently selected to sing with the Grammy-nominated group “Conspirare.”
Hays CISD closed for the holidays
All Hays CISD campuses and offices are closed for the Christmas and New Year holidays. Teachers and staff members will return Tuesday, Jan. 3, for staff development and all offices open and students return to classes at regular hours Wednesday, Jan. 4.
Community Ed offers exercise
The Hays CISD Community Education Department is offering some hot post-holiday exercise classes beginning Wednesday, Jan. 4, and registration is open now. Communiy Ed Coordinator Gina Garcia-Vega announces Yogilates will be offered Mondays and Wednesdays, 6–7 p.m., at the Negley Elementary gym, with its first session running Jan. 4–Jan. 25 and seven subsequent sessions available through June. Cost is $28 for five days, $34 for six days. Zumba is being offered at both the Negley and Pfluger Elementary gyms at $34 for six days, the first of eight sessions running Thursday, Jan. 5–Jan. 26.
