A house fire near San Marcos and Kyle has been contained, although firefighters are remaining on the scene to watch for hot spots and flares.
The fire, in the 300 block of Oak Meadows Drive, was spawning smaller grassfires and caused an explosion when a propane tank combusted.
The South Hays Fire Department was on the scene along with the San Marcos and Kyle fire departments. The Wild Land Taskforce that fights brush fires has been called in.
The home was destroyed by the fire, but no one was injured in the propane tank explosion, a sheriff’s office spokesperson said. Everyone in the home got out safely.
