Firefighters were battling a large brush fire on Saturday evening near Post Road south of the Blanco River between Kyle and San Marcos.
Helicopters and small planes were dropping fire retardant on the blaze, which was estimated to be larger than 10 acres.
The fire, west of Post Road and south of Blanco River Ranch Road, threatened about 100 houes, according to authorities. They urged motorists to avoid Post Road.
