Elsie Lee Carter Brown (1917-2011)

Elsie Lee Carter Brown, age 93, of Buda passed away on September 19, 2011. She was born at home on October 25, 1917 in Buda to Lindsey and Lezora Carter. She was a pillar in the community and will be truly missed and cherished by those who knew her. She was Buda, as her family states, and her history here in the area will never be forgotten. She attended Buda United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her nephews, Tommy and Buddy Burleson; niece, Betty Crawford; numerous nieces and nephews from her husband’s side of the family; and a host of other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Phil Brown and sisters, Addie Lou Burleson and Lynette Herrick.

The family received friends Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Harrell Funeral Home in Kyle. The funeral service will be held at 9 a.m. on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at Buda United Methodist Church with Pastor Jim Sweet officiating. Interment will follow at Live Oak Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Senior Care Center at Onion Creek for the excellent care given to her.
