Hays High hosts SAT
Hays High School will administer the SAT test this Saturday, June 4, with pre-registered students required to arrive at the campus main entrance no later than 7:45 a.m. Testers should bring a photo ID, a calculator, pencils and admission ticket. Testing will be in the “A” hall. Test administrators will have extra tests for possible stand-bys and test center changes. Non-registered students wishing to take the test should arrive no later than 7:30 a.m., identify themselves to Kathy Arendt, and complete paperwork. A check, money order or credit card will be accepted to pay for the test ($88 total, for test and stand-by fee).
Lehman art camps offered
A pair of summer art camps will be offered at Lehman High School, the sessions set for 8 a.m.-noon, June 6-10 and June 13-17. Lehman art department chair Debra Flynn oversees the camps and says the first session is titled “A Week at Universal Studios,” featuring painting, drawing, animation, clay, sculpture and printmaking. The second week is “A Year of Holiday Traditions from Around the World,” and daily features include Mexico’s Dia de los Muertos and Ireland’s St. Patrick’s Day, as well dragons for Chinese New Year and masks for Mardi Gras. Cost for a week is $70, with the tuition reduced to $50 for a second week or second student. Registration is limited to 25 students. Pet clinic set
Hemphill Elementary School and John Y. Tarlton, DVM, have scheduled a Tuesday, June 28, 5-7 p.m. pet vaccination clinic at the campus (3995 E. FM 150). A complete yearly vaccine is available for cats and dogs for $20, but individual vaccinations are available for $5 to $15. Flea and heartworm preventative will also be also available. The “Educating through Experience” fundraiser sees a portion of the proceeds directed to fund HES field trips and a hoped-for playground canopy. For more information, call Lana Tarlton at 238-1093.
Summer Mini Cheer Camp set
Lehman High School will host the Lehman Lobo Mini Cheer Camp this summer, July 26-29, from 8 a.m. to noon each morning. Registration is for students in kindergarten through eighth grade and cost is $50 per participant. A parent performance will be held at 12:30 p.m. on the camp’s final day and campers will earn the right to perform at a Lobo varsity game.
