Hats Off for Hospice family barbecue

CTMC’s Hospice Care will host its seventh annual Hats Off For Hospice family barbecue fundraiser from 2-6 p.m. Sunday, April 10 at Texas Old Town in Kyle.


The event funds the hospice program that grants wishes to patients and their families, requests that in the past have ranged from a hot air balloon ride to a family portrait to an electric razor, said Lisa Adams, hospice public relations coordinator.


Turnpike Troubadours and Gary Herman will will open for the main musical act, The Bart Crow Band. Catering is by Black’s BBQ.


A live auction will include autographed cowboy hats by Alan Jackson, Kevin Fowler, Jack Ingram, Reba McEntire, George Strait and others; sports memorabilia from Houston Texans Matt Schaub, Andre Johnson, Owen Daniels, DeMeco Ryans, Brian Cushing, Arian Foster, Bernard Pollard and Jacoby Jones; and framed, signed jerseys by Tim Duncan, DeMarcus Ware, Miles Austin, Andre Johnson, Josh Hamilton, Colt McCoy and others.


A silent auction will include a 14-carat white gold citrine and diamond ring donated by Abercrombie Gems & Precious Metals; his and her cowboy boots; golf packages; two three-day 2011 ACL Music Festival tickets; and his and her western belts.


The event will also include a raffle for a trip for six to Ruidosa, N.M.
