Tejanos are World Series winners


The local Tejanos 13u American team finished their strong season by winning the ASB World Series over the July 4th weekend. The team was led by strong hitting from Michael Gonzales and Zachary Sendejo, who each hit two home runs. Jared Triolo clinched the victory with a squeeze play bunt in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Tejanos the go ahead run. Strong pitching from Ryan Mejia, Adam Ivey, Chris Alanis, Michael Gonzales and Zachary Sendejo allowed the Tejano team to go 7-0 and allow only 2 runs in pool play and only 10 total runs in seven games played in the ASB World Series. Triolo was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player for the Tejanos.
