Pet clinic set
Hemphill Elementary School and John Y. Tarlton, DVM, offer their latest pet vaccination clinic next Tuesday, June 28, 5-7 p.m., at the Hawks’ campus (3995 E. FM 150). A complete yearly vaccine is available for cats and dogs for $20, and individual vaccinations range from $5 to $15. Flea and heartworm preventative will also be available. The “Educating through Experience” fundraiser sees a portion of the proceeds directed toward HES field trips and a hoped-for playground canopy. For more information, call Lana Tarlton at 238-1093.

Academy seeks chairs
The scene at Live Oak Academy (formerly Academy High School) is evolving and Principal Julie Ruisinger has recently put out a call for “gently used chairs” for the campus common area. She indicates pick-up may be available. If you’ve got some of those gently used chairs you could part with and you’d like to contact Ruisinger to talk about it, write her at [email protected] or call the campus at 268-8462.

Bilingual summer school seeks prizes
The Hays CISD Bilingual Summer School is in need of perfect attendance incentives. Principal Martha Mendez-Trelles says her faculty at Hemphill Elementary is trying to encourage perfect attendance, reading at home with parents, and students “doing their best at school.” The school theme this summer is “Propelling New Heights” and Mendez-Trelles says she is hopeful of securing a prize for a drawing for each of the school’s grade levels. To offer such a prize, contact the principal at [email protected] or call 787-8603.
