The fifth annual Hays CISD’s Technology Showcase at the district’s Performing Arts Center drew a crowd last week with eye-opening demonstrations of ongoing classroom projects and a stunning musical light show.

This year’s show theme was “Our digITal World.”

Kyle Elementary’s (left to right) kindergarten student Dain Aylor and third-graders Brynn Aylor and Kameron Trotter are absorbed in their inspection of one of the Technology Showcase’s fifty-one projects.

Marcia McClendon and a host of the district’s technology staff members helped roll out the welcome for the annual crowd, which got up-close looks at 51 student projects, including digital graphics, animation, electronic portfolios, “smartboards” and more. A wide range of technology sponsors lent their support to the 2010 showcase.

“The show just keeps getting better,” McClendon said.

Hays High School teachers Cliff Buickly and Suzan Pitman won the $15,000 “Think BIG” grant from the Hays CISD Education Foundation.
