The Toons and Tunes Summer Series runs every Friday evening through July 23 at City Park in downtown Buda. The series is free to the public and sponsored by the City of Buda, Randolph Brooks Federal Credit Union and Double Eagle Entertainment. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and snacks. Concessions are being provided by the Buda Lions Club and Texas Shaved Ice. The summer schedule is as follows:
June 11 (Movie)
Monsters vs Aliens (PG) at 9 p.m.
June 18 (Movie)
True Grit (G) at 9 p.m.
June 25 (Music)
Aaron Navarro and Curtis Grimes at 7 p.m.
July 2 (Movie)
Fly Me to the Moon (G) at 9 p.m.
July 9 (Movie)
Where the Wild Things Are (PG) at 9 p.m.
July 16 (Music)
Texas FX and Bo Cox at 7 p.m.
July 23 (Music)
Tejano Night (bands to be determined) at 7 p.m.
Mark your calendars for the free city of Buda Red, White N Buda Fireworks Show at City Park on July 4. Gates will open at 8:30 p.m. The fireworks show will begin at 9:30 p.m. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy free music until 11 p.m. Concessions will be available.
Preceding Red, White N Buda on July 4 is the 2nd Annual Texas Brew B Que Festival that will be held at City Park from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Admission is $15 and kids 8 and younger are free with adult admission and includes live music and free barbeque sampling and kids’ activities as well. Live music includes Cory Morrow, Jason Boland & The Stragglers, Sean McConnell, Mark McKinney, Ryan Beaver, and The Jeremy Miller Band. In July, the downtown Buda merchants are presenting a “Show n’ Shine” featuring the Gearheads of Buda Car Club on Thursday, July 1 from 5 to 9 p.m. in downtown Buda. Classic cars will be on display giving visitors the unique opportunity to view some of the greatest classic car restorations!
