Hays, Lehman well represented on All-District basketball teams

STAFF REPORTS

Hays County officials will break ground on the new Hays County Government Center on Friday, April 30, at 2 p.m. at 710 S. Stagecoach Trail in San Marcos.

The public is invited to attend the ceremony. Featured speakers will include Pct. Commissioner Debbie Ingalsbe, Congressman Lloyd Doggett, State Senator Jeff Wentworth and Representative Patrick Rose.

Image boards of the Government Center will be on display, along with a construction timeline. The $58 million, 232,000-square-foot facility is slated for completion in December of 2011.

The new Government Center will house a number of county offices, including the district court, tax assessor-collector, elections office, records, and juvenile and adult probation. Many of those offices are currently scattered throughout the county.

Attendees are encouraged to carpool due to limited parking and to choose footwear appropriate for a construction site.
