Out with the old, in with the fresh

On Sunday, Feb. 28, I was on my way home to San Antonio from Austin, when my left front tire blew out while I was driving 70 mph, in the passing lane on IH-35 in Buda by Cabela’s. There was no shoulder to pull over and I could not get out of the passing lane. I am 73 years old, was alone, and frightened to death as cars zoomed by me and no one stops. I called 911 and Hays County police did come after about 15 minutes. In the mean time, a very nice young couple from Kyle stopped and the young man said he would change my tire. By the time the police arrived, he was nearly finished. I am so thankful for the kindness and help of this young man and his wife, but in the chaos of the incident, I did not get their names. I would like to say thank you again to them and tell them how special they are, but since I do not have their name, I was hoping you would publish my thank you in your paper and maybe they would see it and know how much their help meant to me.

Thank you,

Roberta Dotin
