James Hill celebrated Father’s Day weekend by running the 37th annual Mayor’s Marathon in Anchorage, Alaska Saturday. Hill completed the 26.2-mile run in a time of 3:39:00.2 to take first place in his age bracket of 70-74. A seasoned marathon runner, Hill and his wife Charlotte have resided in Mountain City for many years.

The 114th annual Camp Ben McCulloch Reunion comes to an end on Friday, June 25. The old fiddlers contest gets underway at 3:30 p.m. Friday afternoon under the pavilion at Camp Ben McCulloch. The contest features all ages of fiddle players and some of the best you have ever heard. There will be bingo, rides, food and lots of visiting on the grounds. The night ends with dancing under the stars with music by the Doug Moreland Band.
The free concert at Buda City Park on Friday, June 25 starts at 7 p.m., with music by Aaron Navarro and Curtis Grimes.

Starting Tuesday, June 29, from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m., traffic will be detoured from Main Street onto Cabela Drive. Watch for signs.

First Thursday in downtown Buda is July 1. There will be the ever-popular classic car show presented by the Gear Heads, shopping at the various businesses on Main along with food and entertainment.
Do hope that Carolynn Schneider and Martha McGee are both starting to feel better.
