A Hays County Sheriff’s Deputy found a man struck by a vehicle in the 100 block of Windy Hill Road, on Thursday, Aug. 5 at 2:29 a.m. The 22-year-old victim, Emilio Berberena, died from his injuries.
Officers began life saving efforts on Berberena in the time it took for Buda Fire and EMS to arrive. The Kyle resident was then transported to Ascension Seton Hays Hospital, but died from the injuries.
An investigation in the victim’s death was initiated by the Kyle Police Department Crash Investigation Unit immediately after its arrival on the scene. Investigators believe the driver was in a 2010-2012 white Ford F-150 pick-up with a chrome bumper.
Additionally, the truck is believed to have sustained damage on the front grill and may have a defective passenger side headlight.
