Investigators with the Hays County Sheriff’s Office are seeking a person of interest in the suspected homicide death of Buda resident Steven Wayne Woelfel.
The Sherriff’s office is seeking Mark David Simmons, 51, whom they describe as a long-term associate of Woelfel and one of the last people known to have been in the company of the victim.
Simmons currently has an active warrant from Rockport, Texas for failure to appear on a weapons violations charge. Officials say he should be considered armed and dangerous.
Investigators believe Simmons is operating a 2008 Hyundai Sonata, silver-blue in color, reportedly stolen from Aransas County. The Texas license plate number is FKR-062.
