District sends sixteen to middle school region choir

James E. Morgan, 74, of Kyle passed away Saturday, April 3, 2010, peacefully at home surrounded by his family. James was born on September 30, 1935 in Hixon Tennessee to William Floyd and Bessie (Pickett) Morgan. James and his wife, Dolores married on May 29, 1955 in Tampa, FL. He served in the United States Air Force for 22 years and retired as a Senior Master Sergeant. After retirement, he was the president of the Plaza National Bank in Dallas for numerous years.


His parents precede him in death. James is survived by wife, Dolores (Rothwell) Morgan; daughters, Karen Brittain and husband, Willie of Wimberley and Kathy Waldrep and husband, Doug of Hickory Creek, TX; brother Floyd Morgan Jr.; sisters, Bessie Jane Shoup, Annie Cole and Betty A. Statham; grandchildren, Dolores Cowan, James Hutchings, Leigh-Ann Adkison and Billy Brittain; and seven great-grandchildren.


Funeral services were Tuesday, April 6, at Pennington Funeral Home in San Marcos, with the Reverend Brian Plescher officiating with interment following at Memory Lawn Memorial Park in Martindale. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 472, San Marcos, TX 78666.
