Like other letter writers over the past few weeks, I first met Marty in 1998 in a community setting, youth soccer. Over the years, our paths have crossed many times while volunteering on school district and campus committees and the boards of youth sports organizations, caring for other members in the community and attending school board meetings. Marty continues to serve on strategic school district committees even though her kids have graduated from the Hays CISD.
Marty is honest, energetic, has a high degree of integrity and is committed to the efficient use of resources, whether it is people’s time, money or materials. I have never known her to be afraid to ask the tough question. Marty’s commitment to the Hays CISD and ability to work with many diverse individuals is evident by a history of service as a board member on Parent Teacher Organizations at all campus levels, a parent representative on Campus Leadership Teams at all campus levels, chairman of Project Graduation, and as that ace in the hole volunteer you could count on when no one else raised their hand.
Marty has raised her hand once again and is asking for your vote to serve you and your children at the highest volunteer level, School Board Trustee. She’s earned our trust by demonstrating a history of genuine interest in how well our schools prepare our children and allocate the resources provided through our tax dollars. Marty has my vote. Please vote for our children and fiscal accountability by voting for Marty Kanetzky for Place 5 in the May 8th Hays CISD School Board election. Early voting begins April 26th. Voting times and places can be found at martykantezky.com.
