Staff Reports

Election Day is Tuesday, March 2 for both the Democratic and Republican Party primaries. Polls are open from 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.

In the primary races, the two political parties select their slate of candidates for the November races.

If you miss the last day of early voting on Friday at Buda City Hall from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m., you’ll need to vote in your precinct for the party of your choosing.

The two parties use the same polling place in all Buda/Kyle area precincts, though some other precincts in the county have separate polling places for the GOP and Democrat races.

Texans do not register by party, so voters can cast a ballot in either primary.

Check the Hays County elections website, www.elections.co.hays.tx.us, for more info.
