If you would like to get connected to your child’s digital world and keep them safe online, join the Hays CISD in welcoming a guest speaker from the Attorney General’s office on Monday, April 12 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center. The session will provide information that every parent and child should know about being safe and aware on the internet and legal issues regarding digital bullying and “sexting.” For more information call 512-268-2141, ext. 6030.

The Buda Public Library continues its 30th birthday celebration with a “Taste of Mexico” on Tuesday, April 13, starting at 5:30 p.m. Award winning tenor Jose Grell will wow the audience with beautiful Spanish songs. Following the music, there will be Mexican cuisine from Buda’s Palmar Restaurant.
The next day, Wednesday, April 14, at 6:30 p.m., you will “learn how to read the Wall Street Journal.” If you are one of the first 25 participants at the Buda Library, you will receive a free one.

The Pearl of Buda will be 97 years old on Monday, April 12. Happy Birthday, Pearl Doherty.

This Saturday you can shop two benefits and find great bargains. Starting at 7 a.m., the Buda/Mountain City MOMS Club will have a sale on the parking lot of Dance Unlimited on Main Street, across from Santa Cruz Church. The sale runs until noon.
The second one starts at 9 a.m. and will last until 2 p.m. at Elm Grove Elementary School on FM 1626. This rummage sale is put on by the Elm Grove Eagles Dad’s Club and will benefit the end of the year dance.

Got your wiener dog in training? The 13th annual Buda Lions Club Country Fair and Weiner Dog Races will take over the town for the big two-day event on Sat. and Sun., April 24-25. In addition to the wiener dog races, there will be a pet parade, arts and crafts, cook offs, entertainment and a great time for young and old.
