KYLE -- Kyle will host a Veterans Day parade and commemoration event on Nov. 13 to honor local veterans.
In partnership with VFW 12058 and AMVETS, the parade will begin at 12 p.m. at VFW Post 12058 and travel west along Center Street, concluding at Gregg-Clarke Park.
The city said the best location to view the parade will be on either side of Center Street between VFW Post 12058 and Gregg-Clarke Park. Additionally, they are asking attendees to stay on sidewalks or grassy areas along Center Street and to not run into the street as the parade goes by.
The deadline for parade entries is Oct. 27 at 5 p.m., or until all spaces are filled. Entry for the parade is free but space is limited to 40 entries. Organizations or individuals interested in entering can apply at www.cityofkyle.com/recreation/2021-kyle-veterans-parade-entry.
After the parade, residents and parade participants are invited to attend the commemoration event and festivities, which will include a warbird flyover, market vendors, family-friendly activities and a fireworks display.
“We are excited to host this year’s Veterans Day parade to honor Kyle’s veterans and their families,” Kyle Parks and Recreation Director Mariana Espinoza said. “We hope the community will join us in commemorating our local veterans for their sacrifices and willingness to serve.”
The parade will be livestreamed on Kyle10, the city’s YouTube channel and the City of Kyle Facebook page. For more information, go to www.cityofkyle.com/VeteransParade, contact the Kyle Parks office at (512) 262-3939 or email [email protected].
