Candidates accumulate coffers

On Center Street

by BRENDA STEWART

Boy, it’s amazing how much this town empties out over spring break. I guess everybody grabbed their kiddos and headed to the beach. I know that my girls were definitely ready for a break but you could almost smell the glee emanating from the teachers on Friday afternoon.

A couple of things to mark on your spring calendar: This Sunday is the Old Town Kyle Advocates monthly meeting at the library on Blanco Street at 2:30 p.m. We’ve got all kinds of things going on and we want your input and help so, come by and get involved in keeping downtown a great place to be. OTKA will also have a booth at the first Market Day of the year on Saturday, April 3 so plan on coming downtown and supporting that fun venture and the Fajita Fiesta as well. And last, but certainly not least, be sure and plan on taking part in the final Comprehensive Plan Meeting slated for next Thursday, March 25. This is an important meeting and your last chance to have a voice in the plan that will be used to guide your hometown’s growth and development for the next decade.
