Senior tennis players Michelle Pieprzica and Brad Weber were honored as Hays High School’s MVP’s by the Capital Area Tennis Association Sunday, April 25. “Michelle was the team captain this past year and her leadership was invaluable to our team,” said Coach Debbie Cook. Michelle played all divisions during her high school career and at the District tournament held earlier in the month, placed 3rd with her partner to be an alternate to the Regional Tournament. Brad, also a senior, started play the fall of his freshmen year as a means to help fill the roster for the team which qualified for the Regional team tournament. According to Cook, “Since that tournament, Brad has dedicated himself to become the best player he could. He is one of the most driven players I have ever coached.” Brad met a great goal of being a part of the first mixed doubles team to qualify for the Regional tournament in Hays High School history. Cook said, “We are very proud of both Michelle and Brad and our other senior, Jeff Fulwiler, as they leave our program to start the next phase of their lives. Their dedication to our program and their leadership will be sorely missed.”
