Businesses in Kyle were chosen for special awards and announced this week.
Small Business of the Year went to Kyle Flower Shop, Medium Business of the Year was awarded to Hands on Healing Spa & Boutique, and CommuniCare Health Centers was named Large Business of the Year.
Allen Wilks Deaver was named volunteer of the year, and Steve Swindel of Ilario’s was named business person of the year.
Nonprofit of the year is Kyle VFW Post 12058.
A special honor, not awarded every year, the Spirit of Kyle award, was given to Irene Melendez as a community steward “for giving unselfishly of herself for others.”
