Mary Lou Cearley, 77, of Driftwood, died Saturday, Jan. 8. She was born March 30, 1933 to B. L. and Gladys Ferguson in Mission, TX. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She was a blessing to all who knew her.


Mary Lou graduated from Austin High School in 1951. On October 26, 1951 she married Homer Cearley who preceded her in death on January 2, 2001.


She is survived by son, Todd Cearley and wife Laurie; daughter, Suzanne Cearley; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Volz and husband Walter; brother, Jack Ferguson and wife Sue; brother Richard Ferguson and wife Susie and many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by many, but she can now breathe freely and be reunited with her husband of 49 years.


A celebration of her life was held at First Baptist Church in Dripping Springs Tuesday, January 11, 2011 and burial followed at Driftwood Cemetery.
