Marine Corporal Christopher Cody Dahl, 25, of Buda, was taken from us suddenly on Wednesday, January 5, 2011.
He was born on August 2, 1985. Cody was a shining light in the lives of his beloved family. His adventurous spirit led him to sports, hunting, fishing, worldwide travel and finally to the Marine Corps.
Cody is fondly remembered for his quirky humor, a constant source of entertainment.
Having served two tours of duty in Afghanistan, Cody considered his fellow Marines to be brothers. In speaking of Cody, one Marine stated, “He literally made me survive in Afghanistan…we will be brothers forever.”
He is survived by his mother, Gloria Renee Dahl; father, Bobby Joe Dahl; great grandmother, Shirley Schwartz; grandparents, Shirley Dahl, Ernest and Marlene Stafford, John and Tina Poulter; sister, Brooke Ann Weiler and her husband Brooks Weiler and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Christopher Cody Dahl – embodiment of the Marine motto “Semper Fi.” You were an ever-faithful son, brother, Marine and friend. May you rest in peace in the loving arms of your Savior.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 8 at Hays Hills Baptist Church, Buda. Burial was at Norse Our Savior Lutheran in Clifton.
