Capt. Thomas Wayne Ray, USMC (Retired), 84, of Schertz, formerly of the Buda area, passed away Thursday, September 2, 2010. His parents and three sisters preceded him in death. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He retired after 23 years of service. He then went on to work for the city of Austin electric department, retiring after 17 years.
Thomas is survived by wife, Jacqueline Ray of Schertz; son, Thomas (Tom) William Ray, daughter-in-law Karen and grandson Parker of Kyle; son, Timothy (Tim) Wayne Ray, daughter-in-law Kristi and granddaughters Becky, Hannah and Ally of Frisco; brother, Gordon G. Ray of Waco and sister, W. Joyce Meyer of Austin.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 9 at Schertz Funeral Home Chapel in Schertz. Graveside service with full military honors following at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
