Graveside services for Emma Belle Scott, 100, of Belton were held Monday, September 27, 2010 at Kyle Cemetery with Dr. Andy Davis and Bro. Robert Horton officiating.
Mrs. Scott passed away Friday, September 24, 2010 in a Belton care center.
Emma was born in Maryville, Louisiana on September 14, 1910 to Richard Hill and David Ella (Fitzgerald) Beavers. She attended Durham Business College in Dallas. She had been employed at San Marcos Air Force Base and Gary Air Force Base. Emma married James Dempsey Scott on March 29, 1932 in Eddy, Texas. She attended the First Baptist Church in Belton.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; one sister, Marie Louise Johnson; five brothers, J.T. Beavers, Richard Clifton Beavers, Alfred Oliver Beavers, Odiest Beavers and Neal Beavers; and one grandson, Mark Scott Sturdivant.
Survivors include one daughter, Patsy Lou Scott Sturdivant; one son, Danny Joe Scott and wife Margaret; two sisters, Ruth Thomson and Jennie Mae Richardson; two sisters-in-law, Lucy Beavers and Kay Beavers; six grandchildren, Freddie Lee Sturdivant Jr. and wife Norma, James David Sturdivant and wife Barbara, Cynthia Jane Sturdivant Creghan, Deborah Ann Scott Sullivan and husband Craig, Sandra Carol Sturdivant Floria and husband Bram, Barry Joe Scott and wife Tricia; 27 great grandchildren, Jared Scott Sturdivant and wife Jessica, Cassie Leigh Creghan Addicks and husband Philip, Cody Boone Sturdivant, Mandy Lynn Creghan Nolen and husband Clint, Judson Blake Sturdivant, Stetson Coy Sturdivant, Cory Dustin Creghan, Danisha Ann Akins Bucher and husband (Daniel), Marleah Grace Akins, Tilathia Mae Akins, Frazier Joel Scott, Gibbs Jordan Scott, Dempsey Claire Floria, Danni Joelle Scott, Lyric Darryn Floria, Cadence Lee Floria, Canon Scott Floria, Brick Sullivan, Charlie Sullivan, Sonny Sullivan, Courtney Michelle Ryder, Jimmy Ryder, Tristen Ryder, Mickey Kerr, and Staci Salinas; seven great-great grandchildren, Kaylie Ryan Nolen, Reese Lane Nolen, Breleigh Belle Addicks, Addison Jane Nolen, Larkin Meadow Addicks, Leigh Josephine Sturdivant, Ava Nicole Sturdivant; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Compassion Radio Ministries or to the First Baptist Church in Belton.
